Of Rekindling Past Loves And Finding A New One

I couldn’t remember the last time I spent time on this type of relationship. I never had an official one, but I’ve been waiting for the right time to get one for myself. It’s one of those “I’ll-do-it-promise!-but-you-don’t-after-nth-number-of-years-because-I’m-so-friggin’-lazy” type of things. I hate those. Maybe it’s because of the love bug getting a good bite of off me…(blame it on Valentino) trying to try new things (whet?) or trying to get back to what I used to love.

Gah. Let’s cut to the chase before you begin thinking I’m talking about a person. Well, I’m talking about one of my past loves, SEWING! 🙂

I think the last time I got  a feel of a pedal was way, way back in high school. I tried convincing my parents to buy me a machine then. Well, they never saw it as a priority. When I got to work and earned my own dough, I never got a around buying one for myself. It’s one of those attainable dreams that I never got around reaching. Good thing! An opportunity knocked on my quaint little door, and I grabbed it! Actually my parents grabbed it for me hahaha. A couple of machines were sold at our local church. They were second hand ones, I think they came from a closed-down factory. They’re in good shape. I think there about 10  pre-loved machines up for grabs. I got 1 of the elusive lovelies. YAHOO! Now what to do with it then? The long term plan is to be like this girl…

Marisa Lynch, My Hero! founder of She gets pre-loved garments and sews them into wonderful creations! She gave herself a fixed budget and a deadline of a whole year to make a NEW DRESS A DAY (Hence the name of the blog.. obviously hehe). Try perusing through her posts, I promise you you’d be astonished on what her crafty hands can do! 🙂

Well, that is the LONG TERM PLAN.. for the immediate one though. I’m still looking for inspiration. Also, I have yet to refresh my sewing skills.. hehe

Here are a couple of ideas I saw….

Oooh.. pretty exciting huh? Anyhoo, what should I name my new beau? Ricci? (derived from his brand name, Riccar) Whadayathink?
